The Roman Ruins at Conimbriga
Click on thumbnail to view picture at full resolutionConimbriga is the most important site or Roman ruins in Portugal.  Little of the town remains above ground level, except a portion of the wall that was constructed shortly before town was destroyed.  However, many of the living and meeting quarters are clearly visible through their subterranean facilities.
